  Disease Models

Powered Research supports a comprehensive suite of ophthalmological models to evaluate drugs, devices, and other interventions. All ophthalmic exams are conducted by a Board-Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, lending significant credibility to the results obtained. High-resolution imaging, pupillometry, pachymetry, electroretinography (ERG), slit lamp biomicroscopy, intraocular pressure (IOP), optodrum optokinetic tracking (OKT), fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), 3D confocal laser-scanning (tomography), bright field, fluorescent retinal imaging, pharmacokinetics and ocular histology. We are a USDA approved and AAALAC accredited research laboratory that houses multiple species for conditions including wet AMD, dry AMD, glaucoma, corneal diseases, ocular inflammation and others upon request. An additional 7,000 square feet of available wet lab space. 

Discovery Oncology

Powered Research supports the evaluation and development of emerging oncology therapeutics from experimental design and in vivo tumor modeling to extensive endpoint analyses.  A leadership team with decades of experience in oncology R&D. Experimental design, study execution, data analyses, and reporting. Onsite 20,000 sq ft, multi-species vivarium staffed by experienced technicians and veterinarians. Modern, fully equipped 2,000 sq ft benchtop laboratory. Customized flow panel designs for deep immune profiling with a full spectrum flow cytometer.

Embedding, sectioning, and advanced microscopic analysis of tissues.

In Vitro Service

Powered Research offers a full suite of in-house services for assessment of novel ocular and cancer therapeutics. Tissue processing, cytokine analysis, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, cytokine analysis, immunofluorescence, RNAScope in situ hybridization, fluorescence and light microscopy, genotyping, qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting and cell culture. Full molecular, histological and advanced microscopic analysis.
